Join the Stratford Film Festival for a special celebration of the life and work of Graham Greene, one of Canada’s most beloved and acclaimed actors. Featuring two of his most memorable performances, this special afternoon and evening honours the extraordinary talent, warmth and wit he brought to the screen throughout a remarkable career.

Joining us for this special tribute is Hilary Blackmore, Graham Greene’s wife of 35 years, who will share personal memories of Graham and behind-the-scenes stories from the making of Thunderheart and Dances with Wolves.

Following Thunderheart, Hilary will join us for a special post-screening conversation at 5:00 pm, offering a rare and personal glimpse into Graham’s life, career and experiences as an actor. She will return at 7:00 pm to introduce Dances with Wolves, the landmark film that earned Greene an Academy Award nomination.

Thunderheart
In this gripping 1992 thriller, FBI agent Ray Levoi (Val Kilmer) is sent to investigate a murder on a South Dakota reservation, only to uncover a web of corruption, violence and buried truths. Graham Greene delivers a memorable performance as tribal police officer Walter Crow Horse, whose wit, intelligence and quiet persistence challenge Levoi’s assumptions—and help lead him toward the truth.

Dances with Wolves
Kevin Costner stars in this sweeping, Academy Award-winning (7 Oscars!) epic about a Civil War soldier whose isolated frontier posting brings him into the world of the Lakota people. Graham Greene earned an Academy Award nomination for his memorable performance as Kicking Bird, the thoughtful medicine man who becomes Dunbar’s friend and guide. Beautifully photographed and deeply moving, Dances with Wolves remains one of Greene’s most celebrated films.
